The Mill Creek Arastra area is part of Clear Creek County’s open space park system. MCVHS has an informal agreement with the county to maintain the arastra and we see it as an important part of the mining history of the area. Still in its original location, about a half mile up Mill Creek road and a short walk to the west, right next to Mill Creek. If you have never seen it, it is worth the walk. It is a beautiful spot next to the creek and very tranquil. Sitting next to, or on the Arastra it is easy to imagine what it was like back in the day.
